What can my child bring for snack?

You may send any healthy snack that is easily and cleanly consumable. Please
do not send in carbonated or caffinated drinks, cookies, or other sweets.

My child is having a birthday, can I send in treats or invitations?

You may send in treats for the class. Cupcakes or cookies are greatly
preferred as sheet cakes require cutting, and forks/plates to serve on and we
only have 15 minutes of break time. Invitations can only be distributed in
class if every child is being invited.

My child is late for school, do I need to sign them in to the office?

No. Please send your child directly to class. There is no need to sign them
in.

Can I come eat lunch with my child?

Absolutely! Please do! :) Please sign in at the front office before coming
to the lunchroom.

We're going on vacation, what do we need to do?

Please stop by the office or send me an email or note and we will give you a
pre-approved leave form. Students are allowed up to 5 excused days of leave
per year. If your child needs to be out for more than 5 days, we cannot
excuse the remainder.

How do I know if my child has homework?

Each afternoon, we take the last 5 minutes of class and copy down homework
assignments and important announcements or reminders into our planners.
Please check and sign your child's planner each night.

appointment.

When are you available for conferences?

My planning times are at 9:35 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. (M, Tu, Th) and 9:35 a.m. on
Friday. Wednesdays are not good days for conferences. Please let me know at
least 3 days ahead of the time you'd like to meet so that I can verify that I
am available to meet with you. I'll look foward to hearing from you!

I found a typo on your website! You're a teacher, you should be ashamed!

:0)

Please let me know if you find a mistake on this site. I will correct it as
soon as possible. We all mess up every now and then. :)

I don't agree with something you've done! What should I do?

Please always feel free to contact me and set up an appointment. If there's
an issue that we need to resolve, I'd much rather do it in person and truly
would like to work something out as soon as possible.

What's the deal with this planner thing?

Each day we copy down homework assignments into the planner. Students are to
get their planners signed by a parent or guardian each night when we have
homework (blank days don't need to be signed.) The planner is how I do most
of the school-home communication. Please take a minute each night to check
your child's planner.
