Robust Vocabulary Please help your child review the following robust vocabulary. Robust Vocabulary will help increase your child's understanding of words and have a wider range of vocabulary for reading and writing. We will be developing robust vocabulary through discussing a literature selection in class each day. New vocabulary words will be introduced each week. I have included a student-friendly explanation.
Week of November 30th, Lesson #12 consequences – Consequences are things that happen as the results of another action. If I walk on thin ice, the consequence might be that I fall through the ice. cruel – Something is cruel when it brings pain or makes you feel bad. greedy – A greedy person wants a lot of something and does not want to share any of it. handsomely – To do something handsomely means to do it in a way that is great or more than you expected. regret – A person who has a regret feels sorry for something he or she did. reward – If you reward someone, you give something special or nice to that person for something he or she has done. |
