New shirt orders went home today. There is an order for class shirts and long
sleeved TES shirts.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE WEATHER ... I HAD A COUPLE OF VERY COLD KIDS THIS
WEEK. I'll do my best to get winter clothes home.
We're getting off to a very cold start. The heat in our classroom is kaput!
Our temporary location is in the PTO portable. As a result there will be NO
Weekly spelling homework. Long story. The kids are adapting well to our new

The Oral Reading Fluency rate is now up to 85%. In other words, your child
should be reading close to 85 words correctly in one minute. This is a cold
read, a passage that is on second grade level that the student has not
practiced.
January starts a new month for Accelerated Reading. Each student needs to
read and take a computerized comprehension/vocabulary test. Students are
challenged to earn 3.0 points per month. I required students to always have
an AR book handy for personal reading.
MATH- practice addition facts +7 and +8. We are beginning to add using
regrouping (carry over), please practice.
If you have a family member that has been or will be deployed, please send in
a photo.
We have a special bulletin board in the Thunderbird Cafe to celebrate our
Tyndall heros.
Starting in January:
1. I will be adding a dictation sentence to the spelling test as part of the
grade.
2. No FUN FRIDAY if spelling homework is not complete AND turned in Friday.
3. No Homework No recess.
