I have been teaching for 17 years, and I've taught in Texas and Kentucky, as
well as Florida. I have been at Venice Elementary since 1996, and I love
it! My Bachelor's degree is from Texas A&M University, and my Master's
degree is from National-Louis University. I have also earned an endorsement
in gifted education and English for Speakers of Other Languages. I am
currently working on earning National Board Certifiation we well.
I have 3 step-children, and I have been married for 8 years. My husband and
I enjoy cooking, riding our Harley-Davidson Road King, and exploring the
rivers of Florida in our flats boat. I also have two adorable dogs, Seamus
and Kramer, and 2 very independent cats named Priscilla and Pinky.
My mission is to encourage my students to always do their very best, while
realizing that it is OK to make mistakes and learn from them. My daily goal
is to challenge my students to think in different ways, and teach them the
value of a quality product. I want my students to understand that each and
every one of us has gifts and talents, and my mission is to help my students
discover their own gifts as well as to appreciate those of others. Finally,
I want to produce curious, life-long learners who work well with others,
question the world around them, and never stop looking for a new favorite
book!
