Students who complete 3 or more courses in the Early Childhood Education or the Culinary
Operations pathways are eligible to earn the Florida Gold Seal Scholarship. This scholarship program
rewards students who are committed to their career preparation as well as their academic achievement.
Earning this award results in a renewable scholarship that may be used at a Florida public university,
community college, area vocational center or accredited private post-secondary vocational, technical,
trade or business school. Students who merit the Gold Seal on their diploma will also receive a
medallion to be worn during graduation ceremonies and a certificate proclaiming their hard work and
preparation.
To earn the Gold Seal, students must:
Meet high school graduation requirements with a 3.0 unweighted grade point average;
Complete a minimum of three credits in a sequential program of study with a 3.5 unweighted
grade point average in those courses;
Demonstrate mastery of basic skills in reading, writing, and computation;
Demonstrate mastery of employment skills; and
Submit an application during the last year of high school.
