3) Read online Fact Sheet.  Hand out parent signature sheet and get
   it signed tonight.

HW:  Return signed information form and $10.00 vocabulary book money
     tomorrow.  Read Chapters 1 and 2 of TKAM.  Be read for a reading
     check quiz tomorrow.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 25:

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16:

1) Turn in your outside reading permission forms; due today!
2) 2-3 review on vocab. 2 words - Take Vocabulary Test on Lesson 2
   Using five of your vocabulary words from this week, write five sentences.
3) Small groups meet to discuss the findings on your Syntax Analysis Charts
   you completed about your best body paragraph of your goals essay.
4) Using your Syntax Analysis Chart and your previously-written best body
   paragraph, revise the paragraph and rewrite it in ink.  Staple your
   new paragraph on top, the Syntax Analysis Chart in the middle, and your
   original essay on the bottom.  Turn in to the basket.
5) After your "break", watch video segment of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD 
6) If time permits, introduce vocabulary lesson 3 words.

HW:  Bring your outside reading book to class Friday.  
     Do Exercises I and II for Vocabulary Lesson 3.

   closely.  Highlight the DJ "stem" for each of your DJs.  Turn in to me.
2) Introduction of Lesson 4 vocabulary words.  Exercises I and II.
3) Groups meet to discuss and add to TKAM project (15 min.).  Check for 
   labels, all pieces of evidence, and materials.  Your group must bring 
   all materials to class tomorrow.  You will create the posters in the first
   half of class and present them in the second half.
4) PSAT Practice Writing Section 3 and self-check.

HW:  Complete any part of the TKAM project.  Bring all pieces of your group's
     poster project to class tomorrow.  Check with each other via phone or
     email to ensure complete success.  Remember that if you are not here
     tomorrow, you will come after school to complete a timed writing.
     Your group will need to glue or write the list of sources that you
     used to complete your project.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29:

1) Groups meet to assemble TKAM posters the first half of class.  
2) Groups present their posters to the class.  All group members must assist
   in the presentation.

   prepositional phrases.

3) FCAT Writes! prompt #2 --- most useful course in school
   Individuals generate ideas; then refine the ideas; partners work to
   create a workable frame for the topic.  Prepare frames on chart paper;
   discuss with class.

4) ELEMENTS OF LITERATURE - Read Introduction to Greek Drama, pp. 685-
   689.  Complete two-column notes as you read --- Main Idea / Details.

5) United Streaming - background information for Oedipus and Greek 
   tragedy.  Take notes.  Discuss dramatic irony.

HW: Watch Oedipus "vegetable" youtube video if possible.

    Don't forget to bring your brown Language of Literature book tomorrow.

   * Use proper heading on the top right-hand side of your paper.

     NOT USE your friends "Spark" and "Cliffs" or any other computer-

      O'Brien's purpose for writing the section PLUS one or two accurate
      tone words.

   2) Write a sentence that includes detail/s from your assigned section
      that support your topic sentence and connect to O'Brien's purpose
      and tone/s in that section.

   3) Write at least two sentences of analysis that explain how and why the
      details reveal O'Brien's tone (attitude).
