I have taught first grade at Windermere Elementary for 17 years. I
have three grown children. Two
of them are married and Chris, 24, lives with us while he is working for Hertz. I have three awesome
grandchildren: Luke, a first grader, Meghan, a 5 year old special needs child, and Patrick who was
born
in March of 2009, who live in Wisconsin with our
oldest daughter, Heather.
Heidi, our middle daughter, lives in Charlotte, North Carolina and is studying to be a PA.
My favorite place to be, when I'm not being Grammy, is in the
classroom. When I am not at school, I
enjoy quilting, making cards, scrapbooking, reading and traveling.
One of my greatest honors was speaking at Olympia's graduation
ceremonies and having students
come up to me after the ceremony and give me a hug!
As your child's first grade teacher, my goal is for each child to grow
in self esteem and to develop
the love of learning in all academic subjects. I desire that each child be
willing to take a risk and try
new skills. I expect children to do the best they are capable of doing in
everything they do. I believe
that the most effective learning occurs when we work together as a team. I
am excited and honored
that you have entrusted me with your child.
