T-shirt are in!!! Students will receive their music t-shirt in class on
Monday, November 16th.
Students are encouraged to wear their t-shirt on Wednesday, November 18th to
show their MUSIC SPIRIT during COMMUNITY of CARING.

The SMS Choral Department would like to welcome Ms. Chelsea Kinding, student
intern, to our school and classroom. Ms.Chelsea, as the students have begun
calling her, is a senior at Riverview H.S. Ms. Chelsea has an interest in
studying music education in college and becoming a middle school music
teacher. She has been singing with the Riverview H.S. Chorus and Center
Stage, under the direction of Betty Mullet, for four years. Ms. Chelsea
attended Sarasota Middle School and sang in the SMS Chorus, under the
direction of Nadia S. Veremchuk.
Ms. Chelsea will be with us through December. We wish her a successful
internship!

Welcome Back to school SMS Music Students and Parents! I am looking forward
to an exciting school year and I hope you are too!
As in past years, my music students will have the opportunity to sing, play
instruments, read music, create music, and develop their musical talent this
year.
My students will not only learn about music, but will also focus on the five
principles of "Community of Caring." The following principles will be
examined and implemented in our classroom:
CARING
RESPECT
RESPONSIBILITY
TRUST
FAMILY
My first goal of the school year is to help the SMS families and students who
may be facing financial and emotional hardships by collecting extra school
supplies (backpacks/pencils/notebooks/paper etc.)
An informational letter on our "School Supply Drive" will go home with your
student on Monday, August 24th. The deadline for donations will be on Monday,
August 31st. The donated supplies will be delivered to the front office and
given to any SMS student who may be of need.
