  8. If lunchroom behavior is inappropriate, consequences will result in loss of privileges.

Expectation of Work Load

You can expect that your child will have school work and studying to do which will vary depending on the curriculum at that time.  Your child should receive specific homework information from each of his/her classes and write that information in their agenda book. We will work hard to coordinate projects and major test so that we do not overload your student.

Absences

If your child is absent due to an unexpected situation (sudden illness, death in the family, etc.) please notify the attendance office in the morning and also send in a written note when your child returns to school. If the absence is a planned absence (doctor’s appointment, out-of-town trip, etc), please send a note with your child to the school PRIOR to the absence.  Your child will be given a passport that his/her teachers will sign.  This will give us the opportunity to inform your child of any work that he/she will miss during the absence.

Make Up Work

Students have a day to make up the work for each day of school that was missed. It is your child’s responsibility to get the make-up work from the teacher and complete the work in a timely manner.

Late Work

Late work will be accepted within a reasonable timeframe, but work that is late beyond that deadline may receive a reduced grade.  Late work will not be accepted after the unit or grading quarter ends, unless there is a conference with parents and teachers to discuss the factors involved.

Transition (going from class to class) Policies

Students will be dismissed from class by the teacher. Do not pack up your backpack until AFTER you are dismissed at the end of class. Students must travel from room to room through the bathroom corridors moving in a clockwise direction. Move directly to your next class. Do

not cut through the middle room.

Backpacks

Backpacks should not become a disruption during class. Make sure there is a name tag on the backpack.

Electronic devices are not allowed in school, so leave them at home. Also, leave toys and personal, non-school items at home.  Cell phones must be kept in your backpack and must be turned off during school. Cell phone that are out and turned on will be sent to the office. Get materials out at the beginning of class and stow the backpack in designated areas during class.
