Wed., 10/14 - PRACTICE! Speeches on careers that involve public speaking are due TOMORROW!

Tues., 10/13 - Finish writing career interview speech and complete notecards. Bring both to class tomorrow.

Fri., 10/9-Mon., 10/12 - Interview person of your choice regarding how they use public speaking in their careers. Due Tues., 10/13.

Thurs., 10/8 - No homework.

Wed., 10/7 - No homework.

Tues., 10/6 - Poetry recitations tomorrow! Memorize, memorize, memorize, and emote, emote, emote.

Mon., 10/5 - Work on memorizing your poem. Bring poem to class tomorrow, Tues., 10/6.

Thurs., 10/1 - Fri., 10/2- Find a poem of at least 15 lines. Bring to class on Mon., 10/5.

Mon., 9/26 - Thurs., 10/1 - Practice! Get VERY familiar with your speech so you can have good eye contact. Be sure to work on your animation, both in your voice and in your facial expressions. Deliveries will be Wed. - Thurs.

Fri., 9/25 - Finish writing exp. speech and polish it! Practice several times, revising your speech as necessary to meet 2-3 min. requirement. Bring speech script and blank notecards to class on Mon.

Thurs., 9/24 - Bring flash drive to class tomorrow to continue writing expository speech.

Wed., 9/23 - Bring flashdrive to class tomorrow if you have one.

Tues., 9/22 - No homework.

Mon., 9/21 - No homework (but practice talking without fillers). Tomorrow you will be graded on your ability to talk without fillers.

Fri., 9/18 - No homework (but try to avoid fillers when speaking!)

Thurs., 9/17 - IF you didn't present today, practice! You WILL present tomorrow.

Wed., 9/16 - IF you didn't present today, practice! You WILL present tomorrow.

Tues., 9/15 - Practice oral interpretation. Presentations begin tomorrow!

Mon., 9/14 - Finish Cornell notes if needed (questions and summary). Bring children's book to class tomorrow for practice. Presentations will begin on Wed.

Fri., 9/11 - Bring children's book to class on Monday.

Thurs., 9/10 - Bring children's book to class tomorrow.

Wed., 9/9 - Be prepared to deliver speech of introduction tomorrow, Thurs., 9/10, if you didn't deliver today. Bring children's book to class on Thurs., 9/10.

Tues., 9/8 - Be prepared to deliver speech of introduction tomorrow, Wed., 9/9. Bring children's book to class on Thurs., 9/10.

Fri., 9/4 - Finish writing speech of introduction if necessary. Convert speech to notecards and begin practicing. Bring completed notecards to class on Tues., 9/8.
