Hi! My name is Jelynn Horne. I have lived in the Columbus/Opelika area for
eleven years. I have been married to my husband, Jody for 6 1/2 years. I am a
mom to a precious baby boy named Austin. This is my tenth year at Britt David
Magnet Academy (two years in First Grade and eight in Second) and I consider
myself very fortunate. Teaching second grade has been both a challenge and a
joy, and I would not trade what I do for anything. I have a Bachelor's and
Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I realize that teaching is a
privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility and always try to do my best
to ensure that each student has a motivating and safe learning experience in
the classroom.
My hobbies are scrapbooking, photography, and reading.
My mission is to create an environment where the children feel safe and will
always try to succeed no matter what tries to block them and to help them have
confidence in their individual academic abilities and talents.
