Happy New Year in 2010!
Welcome back to school on January 5th.Spelling words: stop now has little work
Tuesday: January 5th:We will review Quarter one and two standards, write
about what we did over the Holiday Vacation,take a Star Literacy Test and
Star Reading Test. and stay inside because it is too cold.STEVI B NIGHT
Wednesday: January 6th: We raise the bar on standards. Long A vowels, First
Grade Saxon Math HOMEWORK, and Jack and Jilly Reading Comprehension HOMEWORK.
Thursday: January 7th: We continue new standards. Write a story using
descriptive words, setting and time.We count money everyday at our Grocery
Store.We take our first spelling test.
Friday: January 8th: We check out a new AR book.Some students will retake
spelling test IF we did not get 100% on Thursday.NO HOMEWORK.
Spelling words:Please continue to review these frequently.Play SPARKLE with
your child.Write 3 times each and write them in sentences.Practice writing
sentences at home on Wednesday night because we write sentences in our
journal on Thursday morning. Thursday is Testing Day. Friday is for retakes
for those who do not make 100% on Thursday.

EXPLOR LAB Wednesdays:1-1:40 and Thursdays 9:45-10:20 MONITOR PRINTING or
KEYBOARDING.
*We are looking for parents to sign-up as Monitors in the Explor Lab on
Wednesday at 1:00-1:40 and Thursday at 9:45-10:20.
*We are looking for parents to be CLASS READERS on Mondays at 2:45.

General Announcements:
Everyday except Early Release Day:(1:05)
3:05: When we go home: Your child might come to school or leave by yellow
school BUS (front driveway). They are called individually from the classroom.
DAYCARE (front driveway)3:05, or PARENT PICK-UP (at our playground driveway)
3:05 or AFTER SCHOOL(Gym or Lunchroom)3:05 at Britt David.
In the morning at 8:20:Students wait outside at the designated poles for
each teacher. A paraprofessional will be outside on duty to watch the
kindergarten and third graders at 8:20-8:30. We line up and go in the
classrooms at 8:35. Third Grade goes in at 8:40. The late bell is at 8:45.
Breakfast is served in the lunchroom from 8:15-8:30.
