Homework will be given each night except on Fridays. Please check your
child's DOG book daily as assignments will be placed in the homework section
of the notebook. Not all assignments will be written. It is very important
that students study sight words, memorize math facts, and read, read, read!!
Additionally, research has shown that children who are physically fit tend to
perform better in school and score higher on tests. Therefore, sometimes I
will ask that you take a walk or ride a bike for 15 minutes with your child
and then write me a sentence telling me about it.
EVERY NIGHT I ask that you read with your child for 15 to 30 minutes. This is
absolutley the most important thing you can do to help your child in first
grade!
