I can't believe it's October already!  I still haven't heard the official word of whether or not we won Stevi B's night for the month of September.  I do believe we did.  Five free pizza's will come in handy for our Halloween party.  We very much appreciate your support.  Berkley, Eleanor and Hollie will be contacting you about our class party.  It will be Friday, October 30th at 1:45.

Please work on selling raffle tickets.  The funds collected from this greatly impact the education of the students of BDMA.   I would really like for our class to have 100% participation.  If you are having a hard time selling yours,  please let me know and I will see if I can arrange a time for us to sell tickets at a local restaurant or store.  Thanks to those of you who have already turned in your raffle tickets.

The students are now doing their own journal writing.  Thanks to the parents that are helping with this.  They are:  Turner's grandma, Aiden's mom,  Olivia Willett's mom, and Tulsi's mom.  This gives me a chance to work with the children during reading groups.  This is working out very well.  It would also be helpful to your child, if you would discuss with him/her (on the way to school) what he/she is going to write in his/her journal.

We had two more students this week to become millionaires!!  We have several students that should reach this status soon.  Be sure to send in completed reading logs.

The students have done a wonderful job on spelling tests.  Be sure to study the new spelling words throughout the week.  Spelling test will be every Friday.  It would also be helpful to the students if you could please spend some time at home working on blends (st, fl, tr, etc...).

This month in Math we will be working on numbers 11-20, counting by 2's, 5's and 10's (practice this at home) and fractions.  Our focus for Science and Social Studies will be on fire and stranger safety, as well as holidays.

The Fall Festival will be October 22nd from 4-7 p.m.  Thanks so much to Berkley Blanchard for all that hard work with the silent auction basket.  We very much appreciate your support.
