I have been teaching for fifteen years, 10 of them at Britt David. I
have taught pre-kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and Reading
Recovery. I earned my undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech, and I
completed my graduate work at Auburn University. War Eagle!! (I
promise not to have any bias against students and families who root for
other teams.) :)
I have also been married for fifteen years, and I have two daughters -
Emma, 7, and Ellie, 5. My husband, Bill, is a very dedicated and
hard working police officer and S.W.A.T. team member in our community. Our
families are from Richmond, Virginia, and we came to Columbus when my
husband was a Ranger at Fort Benning.
Besides being successful academically, I would like all students to
leave my classroom as well-rounded, respectful individuals who really
consider both the positive and negative consequences that will affect
themselves and others when making choices in their day to day lives.
