What’s Happening
Weekly Objectives
Reading- Students will use a variety of strategies to gain meaning from grade-level text.
Language Arts- Students will demonstrate understanding and control of the rules of the English language, realizing that usage involves the appropriate application of conventions and grammar in both written and spoken formats.
Math- Students will recognize properties (such as sides and angles) of geometric shapes. Students will identify and distinguish among points, line, line segments, rays, and angles. Students will tell time to the minute and measure elapsed time by stating time before and after the given hour and or minute. Students will identify place value through hundred-thousands, and identify the value of digits in given places of hundred thousands, thousands, hundreds, tens, and ones .
Science-The students will identify and describe characteristics of minerals and rocks. The Student will identify and describe the characteristice of landforms
Social Studies- The students will recongnize rights, duties, and responsibilities of a U.S. citizen. The students will distinguish the difference between rights and privileges of people. The students will explain the difference among making laws, carrying out laws, and determining if laws have been violated. The students will also identify the governmental bodies that perform these functions at the local, state and national levels.
