Welcome to the fifth grade! I am looking forward to a fantastic year of
exciting learning experiences with your child. This letter is a way for me to
share with your a few things that will help all of us have a successful and
wonderful year. I will make every effort to provide a positive and supportive
learning atmosphere so that your child feels he or she can accept any
challenge and succeed. I believe in building relationships and developing a
community within the classroom, and will work with each student to ensure they
become responsible learners. Be prepared to learn, be respectful and courteous
of others, follow directions, stay on task, and complete all assignments are
the only classroom rules that I require everyone to follow.
You can count on me to supply the tools necessary for problem-solving and
inquiry-based learning activities. Through this approach, students will
formulate and test their ideas, draw conclusions and inferences, and assemble
and express their knowledge in a collaborative learning environment. I believe
this method transforms the student from a passive recipient of information to
an active participant in the learning process.
I am excited about this school year. It is my goal to make learning as
interesting and fun as possible. I have high expectations for all students,
and believe that fostering good work habits requires a joint effort. I know
that I will be able to count on your support, encouragement, and cooperation
in making this year a wonderful experience for everyone! It is important that
