I LOVE teaching music! I am in my thirteenth year at Cheatham Hill. I have
been here since we opened the school. I taught music at Baker Elementary in
Acworth for six years and Harmony Leland Elementary in Mableton for two years.
I have also taught pre-school music and have been a classroom teacher in
Virginia, teaching seventh grade reading, seventh grade math, and third grade.
I am currently an Adjunct Instructor for Kennesaw State University teaching
two sections of the Music Methods class to Early Childhood Education majors.
I have a Bachelor of Music Degree with a concentration in voice from Grove
City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania, where I also took my methods classes
for elementary education, and a Masters of Education Degree in Middle Grades
from Berry College.
I was born in Virginia, but moved before I was a year old to Long Island, New
York, where I grew up. I am the oldest of four children.
I met my husband in college and have three children.
I played the flute in the band, the violin in the orchestra, took piano
lessons, taught myself to play the guitar, and have sung in numerous choruses
and choirs.
