I am very excited about teaching 2nd grade this year. This is my 15th year
of teaching and my 10th year at Cheatham Hill. I feel very blessed to be a
part of such a wonderful community. I have spent time teaching 1st-5th
grades as well as 6th and 8th grades. My love, however, is in elementary
school. I graduated from Troy State University in 1992 with a bachelor's
degree in learning disabilities. I am currently dually certified in special
education as well as early childhood. In May of 2007, I graduated from
Kennesaw State University with a master's degree in early childhood and in
July 2012 I received a specialist degree in curriculum and instruction from
Lincoln Memorial University. I have been married for 19 years to Stephen
and have two wonderful children, Ivey who is 15 and in the 10th grade at
Allatoona HIgh School and Evan who is 13 and in the 8th grade at Durham
Middle School. I am very eager to learn and grow with your child this year.
I look forward to an awesome year and to working with you in this
partnership! If ever you have concerns or questions please feel free to
contact me.

It is my belief that each child is an unique individual who needs a secure,
caring, and stimulating atmosphere to grow and mature emotionally,
intellectually, physically, and socially. As an educator it is my desire to
help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by creating an
environment that is safe, invites sharing of ideas, and supports risk-
taking. It is important to promote respect for all things and all people.
When the voice of each student is heard, children develop a deep love and
respect for themselves and others.
"Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working
together is success." Henry Ford
I am looking forward to having a very succcesful year working with you and
your child.
