Homework is an extension of classwork to provide additional practice and
reinforcement and is given Monday through Thursday. Homework for fourth
graders should take approximately 45-60 minutes or less unless there is a
long term project or additional practice time is required for learning
spelling words, math facts, and/or studying for tests. If there is a concern
about homework, please communicate that concern with a note,
phone call, or email to the teacher involved.
Students are expected to fill out a green OOPS Slip when homework is not
completed and expain why they did not complete the work. They are expected to
complete the homework that night and turn it in the next day for credit. Any
OOPS slips a child receives will be attached to their Friday's papers
indicating if the assignment was completed or not.
Parents may check out electronic copies of the fourth grade Reading and
English books from the Media Center. Ask the Media Specialist for them. You
can keep them all year.
