Healthy Snack Ideas

Snack time may arguably be the most important time in our morning!! Students know when snack time is and make sure that we don't forget it! It is usually mid-morning and lasts for 10-15 minutes. It is very important that children are provided with healthy foods for their snacks. Below is a list of suggestions to help you with ideas. Simple, Healthy Snack Ideas

  • Raw vegetables, such as celery, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, cucumbers served with a lowfat dip.
  • Fresh such as apples, oranges, bananas, peaches, grapefruit, grapes, melons, pears, plums or strawberries.
  • Lowfat quick breads and muffins
  • Non-sugared cereals/snack mixes made with popcorn and whole grain cereal.
  • Trail mix
  • Granola bars
  • Dried fruits (raisins, blueberries, apples, banannas)
  • Bagels
  • Crackers with cheese or peanut butter
  • Popcorn or pretzels
  • Rice Cakes
  • Yogurt
  • Goldfish Crackers
