Dear Parent/Guardian:

In order to guarantee your child and all the students in my classroom the excellent learning climate they deserve, I am utilizing the following DISCIPLINE PLAN starting today.

My Philosophy:

I believe all my students can behave appropriately in my classroom.  I will not tolerate any student stopping me from teaching and/or any student from learning.

My class rules include the following:

1. THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE AND THE LEAST TOLERATED BEHAVIOR IS TALKING BACK TO THE TEACHER AND EACH OTHER.
2. DO NOT VANDALIZE, MAR, OR DESTROY PROPERTY.
3. STAY IN SEAT DURING CLASS PERIOD AND UNTIL THE LAST BELL RINGS.
4. DO NOT DISTURB OTHER STUDENTS WHILE WORKING.
5. NO TALKING UNLESS CALLED UPON.
6. NO EATING, CHEWING GUM, OR PRIMPING IN THE CLASSROOM.
7. MUST BRING SUPPLIES TO CLASS EVERYDAY.
8. FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS AND LISTEN.
9. CHEATING—STUDENT WILL RECEIVE AN AUTOMATIC “N” IN CONDUCT, A “0” ON THE ASSIGNMENT, AND A NOTE/CALL HOME TO PARENT/GUARDIAN. A STUDENT CAUGHT CHEATING IN ANY BUSINESS ED. COURSE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE ANY ADDITIONAL BUSINESS ED. COURSES THE REST OF THE SCHOOL TERM.

If a student chooses to break a rule:

      1^st Consequence** Warning

      2^nd Consequence**Parents/Guardian will be called during class

      3^rd Consequence & Severe Disruption**Written up & principal conference

It is in your child’s best interest that we work together in relationship to his/her schooling.  I will thus be in close contact with you regarding your child’s progress in my classroom.  Please sign the DISCIPLINE PLAN and have your child bring it with him/her to school.  If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to call me (404.370.4420 Ext. 237).
