Math is one of our main missions this year!

With your help... all of your children can learn the math standards required to be successful in third grade and when they move on to the fourth grade.

Math is the third test we take for the CRCT in April. I want every child to pass, and it is very important that your child passes this section of the CRCT.

Also, for your child to receive the Math Mania award at the end of the year... he or she must solve 100 mixed addition and subtraction problems in 7 minutes with at least a 90%. He or she must also solve 100 mulitiplication problems in 7 minutes with at least a 90%.

This is what you can do to help...

• Help your child with his or her homework each night
• Use flash cards for addition, subtraction, and multiplication
• Give your child a timed test, like we do at school: 100 mixed addition and subtraction problems in 7 minutes AND 100 multiplication problems in 7 minutes... If you need some blank tests, just let me know and I will send some home.
• Let them count loose change
• Let them help you add up grocery bills, etc...
