Cornerstone

What is Cornerstone?
To read, to write, to think critically, to analyze and evaluate
information, to communicate effectively in a variety of forms,
and inquire systematically into any important matter.

Cornerstone is a national literacy initiative of the New York
Institute for Special Education in partnership with the
University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. The
Cornerstone literacy initiative's mission is to ensure that all
children reach an acceptable standard of literacy by the end of
third grade. Cornerstone provides four years of comprehensive
professional development for teachers, principals, and
families, enabling all to work together to see that this mission
is accomplished.
