Continue working with your children to master their multiplication facts. We
will begin area and perimeter, and multiplication is needed for solving area
problems. We are also working on identifying fractional parts of a whole,
and multiplication is needed for that as well.
We are continuing our unit of study of Georgia's habitats, and will begin
animal adaptations next.
We are also continuing our study of famous Americans who affected our
country's history. We are finishing up Lyndon B. Johnson, and will begin our
last two: Cesar Chavez and Mary McLeod Bethune.
Final test for math facts goal will be March 27. This will give us time to
determine how many 3rd graders will participate.
A few general reminders:
Money for lunches or anything else that is sent to
school should be sent in an envelope with your child's name on it, and my
name. If lose bills are lost on the way to class, there is usually no way to
recover
that money.
If you visit my "links", you will find many websites that have good practice
in math and other subjects. I will revisit them all soon to make sure the
links are all still active, and I would appreciate if you would let me know
if you try to visit a website and find it does not work anymore. Sometimes,
they just need to be updated.
