| Dear Parents,
1. Please check your child's "Take Home Folder" each night. There may be
notes from the teacher, school, or PTA in it. Your child is responsible for
returning the folder the next morning. He/she should put any notes brought
from home, including how he/she goes home that day, in the mailbox on my
desk.
2. If a change is made on how a child goes home...it MUST be in WRITING and
put in the mailbox upon arrival at school. If you check your child out from
school, please do not come to the room, but check your child out from the
office. The office will call me over the intercom, and your child will meet
you at the office.
3. Your child will have some "homework" to do. Please see that he/she is
responsible in accomplishing it, returning it the next morning, and putting
it on the "blue bear" shelf for the teacher to check. If your child needs
help with math homework, please help him/her. The homework will be a review
of what we are learning in class. Drop me a note if he/she or you have
problems understanding the homework, and I'll get back to you ASAP.
4. After the Labor Day holiday, your child will also be bringing
home an "Overnight Express" folder. This folder will contain a leveled book
and a reading log for you to fill out as the books are read. The leveled
books will be a level that your child can read independently. The books
he/she reads with me will be more difficult. Have FUN together, and enjoy
this time with each other! Your attitude toward reading will be reflected
in the eyes of your child and will build upon his/her knowledge for the
future. You may also list other books you read together on the log!
Thanks,
Linda Bailey
