Notes of Interest:
¥ Your childÕs math summative assessment came home in their Thursday folder today. At Open House I told you there would be a stamp on
all summative assessments, but this stamp hasnÕt arrived yet. For now, look for the word summative on assessments. Please know this is a
summative assessment and will count towards the report card. Remember this is the grading scale:
3- Consistently meeting the standard
2- Progressing toward meeting the standard
1- Limited or minimum progress toward meeting the standard
¥ Remember tomorrow is the last day for book orders. IÕll be sending in the order after school.
¥ On Monday your child will bring home their ReaderÕs Response journal. It will not be due until Thursday. It is fine if they turn it in early. (We
discussed this at Open House.)
News to you:
¥ Our medal ceremony was a success! The kids enjoyed being honored while listening to the Star Spangled Banner.
¥ We are math geniuses! We spent this week reviewing addition, and it is clear to me that I must have the smartest kids in second grade
because they all knew everything already!!! Next week weÕll get into regrouping.
