I have been married to a my husband, David, for 33 years. Our family has
lived in the Marietta area for over twenty years. We now consider ourselves
native Georgians because we have lived here for so long. We have three
beautiful daughters and two terrific sons-in-law. Katie and her husband,
Lee, live in the Athens area where Lee is a band director and Katie works at
the University of Georgia. Kirby and Daniel are newlyweds(July 7, 2006).
They live in Knoxville, Tennessee where Daniel is a second year veterinary
student at UT and Kirby is the volunteer co-ordinator for Claris Hospice.
Kristin is now in her second year at the University of Georgia and loving
it! Dave and I think of ourselves as empty nesters - except for Mitzi, our
dog. And even though the kids don't live at home anymore, they still keep us
very busy!
I have been teaching in Cobb County for 12 years with an additional six
years of teaching experience in Mississippi and Arkansas. I have my Masters
degree and am certified in both Special Education and Elementary Education.
I would like to obtain my Specialist degree in Elementary Education with an
emphasis in reading in the next couple of years. I enjoy reading and doing
handwork in my free time.
I believe that every child has a right to learn in an environment which will
allow him to excel to the best of his abilities.
