What is a portfolio and how will my child use a portfolio?
Your child will be given a folder that will hold all of his finished work for the current 9 weeks. A
portfolio is a way to measure growth through out the school year for your child. The portfolio system is
also a way for your child to organize his or her work every week.

How can I review my child's work in the classroom?
It is highly recommended that you purchase a 7 pocket folder for your child at the beginning of the
school year. During the week, your child will place his or her assignments in the 7 pocket folder.
This includes finished assignments and homework. The 7 pocket folder will also be carried from
school to home during the week.
You may request at any time to see your child's 7 pocket folder to see weekly assignments. On
most Fridays, we will be transfering finished items from the 7 pocket folder to portfolios. You may
request to see your child's portfolio at any time. At the mid point of the 9 weeks and also at the end
of the 9 weeks your child will be bringing home his or her portfolio.

Can I see my child's grades online?
