We are so excited that our class t-shirts came in. Your child can wear their t-shirt on Fridays, as

as on Field trips. I ordered a shirt for each student. Your child may not have received his/her shirt if
we did not get a payment. If you have not paid for a shirt, please do so as soon as possible.

getting low.) They just copied them into their spiral for this week.

Dear Parents,
I thought we would start the homework routine as listed on the homework page this week. However,
that is not the case. I am letting the students build up to that. Tonight for homework the students
will study their spelling words, study their math facts, read a book, and write a free story.( That is a
story about whatever they want to write.
P.S. The homework assignment sheet did not come out clearly. I have only one printer that I can
print right now. I am in a new room this year and my computer does not print to the one in here yet.
I will try to use my flash drive and see if I can print it to someone else's printer.

We have not started our homework routine as it is outlined on the homework page of this website.

will start that next week.
Tonight I have given the students a Brain Teaser activity. Let your child try to complete it on their
own
first. Then you all can work on it together. Do not worry if you can not get it to work. It's just a fun
thinking activity. We will discuss it in class tomorrow.

Dear Parents,
Welcome to a new school year here at East Side Elementary! I hope you all had
a wonderful and relaxing summer and are ready for a great school year. I
enjoyed meeting you all on Thursday at Meet and Greet. I am really excited
about working with your children this year. I am looking forward to meeting
with you again for Open House on September 1st. I will be sharing with you
information about the second grade curriculum and our goals for this year.
