1. Practice sounding out and writing 3 letter words such as: pat, sun, sit, pit, pet, and pot.
2. Practice sounding out and writing word families such as:
The –at family: cat, fat, mat, rat, bat, sat, mat, at, hat, pat, vat
The –it family: bit, fit, hit, lit, pit, sit,
The –ot family: cot, dot, got, hot, jot, lot, mot, not, pot, rot, sot, tot
3. Work on teen numbers writing the numbers 11-20 and saying how to write the numbers when the
student is told the number. For example the one comes first and then the next number.
