Overnight Express: (Starts in a few weeks!)
Students will bring their Overnight Express folder
home Monday-Thursday. Your child will choose a book from a basket featuring
books that are a little easy (confidence/fluency,) a little hard (word
solving strategies,) or just right (comprehension.) These books are based on
your child’s independent reading level which was determined by a Direct
Reading Assessment. Each night, your child reads a book or part of a book.
Together, record the information in the reading log. The book and folder are
to be returned everyday so your child may choose a new book. Students may
choose the same book one more time if they like. Thank you for helping your
child become a confident, fluent reader!
