Overnight Express:
Students will bring their Overnight Express folder
home Monday-Thursday. Your child will choose a book from a basket featuring
books that are a little easy (confidence/fluency,) a little hard (word
solving strategies,) or just right (comprehension.) These books are based on
your child’s independent reading level which was determined by a Direct
Reading Assessment. Each night, your child reads the book. Together, record
the information in the reading log. The book and folder are to be returned
EVERYDAY so your child may choose a new book. Students may choose the same
book one more time if they like. Thank you for helping your child become a
confident, fluent reader!
