Homework Guidelines:
Homework is a time for your child to shine and show you what he or she is
learning in school. In first grade, the purpose of homework is to help your
child develop organizational skills, learn responsibility, and reinforce
skills introduced in school. It is also a time to involve the parent in the
academic progress.
* Always use a pencil.
* If coloring is involved, color with crayons or colored pencils. Please do
not use markers.
* If cutting is involved, let your child do the cutting. If needed, you may
draw a line around the object as a guide for your child to follow.
* Bring your red folder to school everyday.
* An adult must always look over your homework.
* Always encourage your child to do his or her best.
* If you help make homework an important part of your child's learning, your
child will make it important, too.
