About The Teacher

I grew up in Wisconsin and and received my degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison and later moved to the Chicago area where I received my
M.Ed. from Louis University. My husband, Steven, was transferred to Georgia
and we moved to Alpharetta, Georgia.

I was a teacher in Wisconsin and Illinois before moving south. I have taught
at East Side Elementary School for 18 years. I began teaching at East Side
with Pat Mabry as my para-professional. My newest Para is Lynda Leckie.

Steve and I live in Alpharetta, Georgia, and have three WONDERFUL children:
Jennifer, Amanda and Casey. We love being around them and their families.

It has been my priviledge and honor to be able to teach kindergarten at East
Side Elementary School. I count my blessings with all the children that I
have taught throughout the years...which, includes siblings. Getting to know
my classroom children's families has been such a joy. The families in my
kindergarten classroom have always volunteered and gotten involved throughout
the year. I urge parents to participate as much as possible so that their
child will feel the comfort of knowing this is their kindergarten family and
be proud to see their parents helping out. The parents, at the same time,
get to observe their child in a classroom situation where their child's
actions speak louder than words. Parents get to see first hand their child in
a school situation, HOW they get along, WHAT they are learning, HOW they are
learning and WHAT they finally know. They get to observe the metamorphosis
of their own child growing from a caterpillar and emerging as a butterfly.

Mission For The Class

My mission for the class is that each child, in the class, show responsibility
and is respectful towards others, to LOVE learning and school, enjoy reading
and writing, treat others the way you want to be treated and be the best you
can be in a safe, caring and happy environment.
