Dear Parents,
Due to severe weather that we may be having tomorrow, November 10, the Cherokee YMCA field trip has been cancelled. We have rescheduled the field trip for Monday, November 16.
If you have any left over Halloween candy, please consider sending it in with your child in his/her backpack. We are collecting the candy in the fron lobby of the school to go to hospitals for children. It is a great opportunity to show your child how to give to others (their age) that are in need.
Another great way to show your child how to support kids is our school's One for Books campaign. The PTA has started a contest to see how much loose change classes can collect to help purchase books for kids' classrooms in other schools. So, if you have any loose change/money in your car or lying around, put the money in a baggie or envelope and send it to school with your child's name, teacher name, and One for Books printed on the front.
Lastly, we are asking Dad's to send in an old tie for us to use as "tail feathers" on our class turkey. It will be displayed in the hallway and the students LOVE it!!! It lets them feel like they have a little piece of dad around the school with us. Please send in ties (1-2) by Monday, Nov. 9th.
Sincerely,
Deborah Stephens
