About The Teacher

First of all, let me say that I truly love my job! I enjoy teaching every single day, and my hopes for my
students are for them to set high expectations for themselves and to believe in themselves. This will
be my fifth year teaching in Cobb County, and my third year at East Side. I feel very lucky to be
at such a great school, and be part of the East Side family and surrounding community. I received
both my Master's Degree and Bachelor's Degree from Kennesaw State University. I am starting
my Specialist's Degree this January. I set high expectations for myself as an educator, and hope that
reflects in my students' passion for learning. I am a big kid myself, so don't be surprised if I am
dressed up for a particular lesson. I will do anything silly to motivate my students. One of my
favorite quotes is by Virginia Woolf, and it's "Teaching without zest is a crime!" I differentiate
instruction to cater to all learning styles, and work hard to establish a "team" in the classroom.
Students become intrinsically motivated to do their best, and feel comfortable in the classroom
environment provided. I love going to extracurricular activities, and often show up at football games
and recitals. I think communication is vital, and my door is always open for parents
past and present.

In my spare time I enjoy traveling (especially to Europe, and ANY beach), college football,
volunteering with the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta, attending outdoor sporting events/concerts,
golfing (and yes, the golf bag is HOT PINK), snow skiing, deep sea fishing, reading, spending time
with my family and friends!

Mission For The Class

For each of my students to excel academically through a fun, engaging, and
comfortable classroom environment. My motto as an educator is: "EVERY CHILD, EVERY DAY, WHATEVER
IT TAKES!"
