Teaching is a second career for me and this is my fifth year teaching at
East Side. In my first career I managed medical practices and also did
consulting work for doctors. As a result of my work experience I try to
always find connections between the children's studies and the work world.
I am an Army Brat and lived in Europe and the Middle East for almost 11
years growing up. I feel I had an incredible childhood traveling the world
and being exposed to so much culture. I have lived in Atlanta for 8 years
now. I have lived mostly in Maryland, Ohio, Texas, Tennessee and
Virginia while in the United States.
To be responsible, respectful, to spend each day giving their best effort
and to never give up. I expect each student to try, try again, try a
different way, to just keep trying and I will facilitate their efforts to
find a way to master the skills they need to prepare them for middle school.
It's important that each student leave elementary school feeling confident
about their study skills so that no matter what academic obstacle they may
encounter, they will have the skills needed to do well and feel sure of their
ability to problem solve.
