Homework

Things to look for daily at home:

-Take Home Folder
-Planner
-Thursday Folder (only on Thursdays)
-A book to read for at least 30 minutes
-A way to practice their basic multiplication and division facts
-Dear Home Journals (only on Fridays, please write back to your child)

Usually the following should come home almost every night:

-Math homework - If your child does not have math homework, they still need to be practicing their
facts EVERY night. I also have some math games on this web site that they can use for practice.
-Spelling - We have a spelling lesson almost every day. If I did not give a specific assignment, the
children should be "teaching" those of you at home the concept they learned in class.
-Health, Science, or Social Studies - Depending on what topic we are currently covering, your child
may have 1-3 homework assignments a week.

Planners and Thursday Folders are checked every Friday morning to make sure that they have been
signed.

The students are not graded for the work they complete at home, but they are held accountable for
turning in assignments in a timely manner.

Thank you for supporting the development of your child's good oragnizational skills and study
habits, as well as helping them establish personal responsibility. I would appreciate your continued
support as we enter the third nine weeks and your child prepares for the increased responsibilities
that the next school year holds.
