Mrs. Khatoon graduated in 2004 from the State University of West Georgia
with her Masters in School Counseling. She has two undergraduate degress
from the University of Georgia in Psychology and Political Science. This
year Mrs. Khatoon will be working half time so that she can spend more time
with her 2 year old son.
This is Ms. Garrett's fourth year at East Side. Ms. Garrett is entering her
ninth year of elementary counseling. She received her master's degree in
Guidance and Counseling from Bowling Green State University in Bowling
Green, Ohio in 2000. Ms. Garrett enjoys traveling, reading inspirational and
motivational books, dancing and going to amusement parks. Ms. Garrett,
(affectionally called "Ms. Chandra") firmly believes that one cannot educate
the mind without educating the heart FIRST.
This is Mrs. Rowley's second year at East Side and she is SO excitied to be
here full time! Mrs. Rowley has worked with children and families for over
20 years in several states, including Georgia. Fifteen of the those years
have been in elementary schools as a parapro, special education teacher,
social worker and counselor. She has a BA in psychology and education and a
master's degree in social work. She also completed the school counseling
certification program at the University of West Georgia. Mrs. Rowley is
married and has three children. She enjoys spending time with her family.
She LOVES the beach and enjoys swimming, exercising, gardening and reading.
The Cobb County Guidance and Counseling Program is designed to prepare
students for the challenges of living in a diverse and technological society
by using a curriculum that focuses on the academic, personal/social, and
career development of students. Through collaboration with educators,
parents, and the community, school counselors guide students through their
educational experience and assist them with plans to ensure postsecondary
success.
