Friday News

12-7-09
Dr. Burnett was a super speaker today!  Dr. Burnett is a bat expert and I was very pleased that students had this opportunity.
I was impressed with his enthusiasm and knowledge shared as he shared bat facts.  He is a professor at Clayton State College and has been studying bats and sonar waves for over 15 years.

For homework the students are to write a thank you note to Dr. Stephen Burnett. Students were asked to thank him and include at least three things they learned today.  Drawing a picture for him is optional.  Thanks again to all parents who contributed to the Target donations at the beginning of the year.   We were able to pay our speaker using our Target donations fund instead of asking parents to send in additional money.

Next Friday we'll have our last day of Target for the nine weeks and the year.  If you have time, please send in a snack to be shared with the class to celebrate the season. I'll supply the paper products.  Email me if you have any questions.

Our class will change as new students will qualify and begin in January.   It's with some sadness that this class changes at all, because it's been perfectly wonderful each week discovering your child's interests in learning, strengths in creative and critical thinking, and observing their super minds at work.  We've been very close knit group and there's a special energy and love of learning shared.  I think we'd all agree that we would prefer to keep our class just the same in 2010.   Although I'm sure our transition and acceptance of new students will bring growth and a new dimension to our class and we'll welcome all with open arms.

Hopefully you and your family will have a joyous holiday filled with love, peace and great family times during our Winter Holidays.     Love, Mrs. Lind
