The most current weather forecast indicates snow accumulation will not begin until approximately 7 p.m. Thursday. Therefore, Cobb County schools and facilities will remain open and on regular schedules Thursday. All after-school activities that were scheduled to begin after 6 p.m. have been cancelled. Additionally, parents with children in the After School Program are encouraged to pick up their children as soon as possible Thursday afternoon. The District will continue to monitor weather and road conditions into the night. If any changes are made regarding school status on Friday, January 8, 2010, the announcement will be made either late Thursday night or early Friday morning and will be posted online at www.cobbk12.org and  broadcast through the local television, radio and newspaper media, and delivered to all district parents in an automated phone call. If no announcement is made, regular school hours will be in effect Friday.
