![]() Clinic· The Clinic is open 7:30am to 2:30pm. · The clinic is staffed by Tina Mansperger, RN. · The clinic is available to meet the immediate needs of students and staff at East Side Elementary School. · You can call Mrs. Mansperger directly with health questions or concerns at 770-578-7208. A few reminders: 1. It is essential that parents provide their children with education regarding ways to stay healthy, and prevent the spread of infection. · Brush teeth at least twice per day. · Make healthy food choices, including a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. · Get a minimum of 8-10 hours of sleep per night. · Drink lots of fluids like water, and limit consumption of fluids packed with sugar. · Cover your mouth and nose when sneezing and coughing. · Keep hands/fingers out of eyes, nose, and mouth. · Wash hands frequently and thoroughly, especially after using the restroom, playing outside, sneezing, coughing, blowing your nose, or playing with pets. Also wash hands prior to preparing food or eating. 2. If your child requires medication while at school, please comply with the Cobb County School District guidelines. These guidelines and all necessary forms may be obtained on the district website, or copies are available in the clinic. · All medications administered at school require an authorization form to be completed and signed by a parent/guardian. · Medications should not be sent to school with a child, but should be delivered to the clinic by an adult. · All medications must be in the original container. 3. Sending your child to school sick puts all other students and staff at risk for becoming ill. Please comply with the following guidelines for illness: · Fever- The child may not return to school until free of fever for 24 hours. · Vomiting- The child may not return to school until child is free of vomiting episodes for 24 hours from the last episode. · Diarrhea- The child may not return to school until 24 hours from the last diarrhea stool. · Conjunctivitis (pink eye)- The child may not return to school until he/she has received antibiotic treatment for 24 hours, and is free from eye discharge. · Strep throat- The child may not return to school until he/she has received 24 hours of antibiotic treatment, and is free from fever for 24 hours. · Chicken pox- The child may not return to school until all lesions are crusted over.
