2. Students “toss” key lines in act 2 to familiarize themselves with key 
themes/ideas.  
3. In groups, students will create word webs with thematic terms from Macbeth 
(blood, hands, night, sleep). Students will add 15-20 associated terms and 
then explain connections with the terms and key characters.  RL1-3; SLV2
HW: Read Act 2, scene 1 RC1

Tuesday: EQ: 1.How does the study of Greek/Latin root words aid in the 
understanding of complex vocabulary?
2. What are effective ways to understand Shakespeare’s language and analyze 
theme, motive, and characterization?

2. Summarize Act 2, scene 1. Then, students work to analyze context, 
blocking, tone, volume, pacing for scene 2. Act out in groups. RL1-3;LSV1-2
