Spanish II: November 2, we worked on exercises 11-14 on pp. 17-19 in the
workbook and discussed the answers. We wrote two more facts
about the use of object pronouns into our notes. For tonight
do exercises 28-30 on pp. 38-39 in the book.
November 3, we discussed the homework from last night. We
started on review for the test this week. Please do the side
of the worksheet with the pronoun exercises on it. The last
section will be for extra points.
November 4, we discussed the answers to the first test review
sheet on pronouns. We started working on the second review
sheet using preterite verbs. The test will be Friday. Make
sure you study regular and irregular preterite verbs, the
direct and indirect object pronouns, chapter 1 vocabulary,
the notes on past tense and the notes on pronouns.
November 5, we discussed the answers to the second half of
the test review. We discussed possible questions for the
writing section of the test. Test is tomorrow.
November 6, we took a major test over Chapter 1.
November 9, a few people had to finish their test. The others
started on the homework for tonight which is to read pp. 50-
54 in the book, and do exercises 2 and 9. We wrote, defined,
and pronounced the vocabulary for Ch 2 LA1. Quizzes will be
Weds and Fri, half of the list each day.
November 10, we finished discussing the vocabulary. We dis-
cussed the use of reflexive verbs, and started writing notes
on reflexive verbs. Vocab quiz tomorrow over 1-26 Ch 2 LA1.
The rest will be on Friday.
November 11, we took a vocab quiz over 1-26 Ch 2 LA1. We
finished taking notes on reflexive verbs. We did a practice
exercise with reflexive and then discussed the answers. For
tonight conjugate verbs 1-5 on the vocab list in the present
and in the preterite. You must do this using reflexive pro-
nouns or you will not get credit for the homework - it's the
whole point of the exercise! Follow my example in the notes.
November 12, we discussed the conjugations we wrote last
night. We did short exercises with reflexive verbs and then
checked the answers. We have a quiz tomorrow over the rest
Ch 2 Lesson A1 (27-end).
November 13, we took a quiz over 27-end Lesson A1 vocab. We
did some practice exercises on the SmartBoard using the
reflexives.
November 16, we took a daily quiz over the reflexive verb
notes, and the use of reflexive verbs. We discussed the
answers to the quiz. We wrote Chapter 2 Lesson A2 vocab. On
Wednesday we will have 1-20, and the rest on Friday.
November 17, we finished defining, pronouncing and discussing
the vocabulary list. We took the same daily quiz as we took
yesterday after discussing the mistakes made on it. We did
a quick review of the imperfect verb tense. For tonight study
1-20 vocab, the imperfect verb endings, and read through the
preterite/imperfect notes. Imperfect endings will be a bonus
on the quiz tomorrow - 10 points!
November 18, we took a vocab quiz over 1-20 Ch 2 Lesson A2
vocab. The rest of the list will be on Friday. We discussed
demonstrative pronouns. We did some practice with reflexive
verbs in all tenses including the imperfect. Homework is pp.
21-25 in the workbook, ex. 1-6.
November 19, we took a daily quiz over imperfect/preterite
notes, and reflexive verbs in every tense. We discussed the
answers afterwards. We read and discussed pp. 50-53 in the
book. We discussed the answers to pp. 21-25 in the workbook.

November 20, we took a vocab quiz over 21-end Lesson A2. We
did a little written practice with reflexives in all tenses.
We discussed pp.54-55 in the book.
November 30, we did a quick review of reflexive verbs, the
preterite tense, and the imperfect tense. We did written
practice using reflexive verbs in all tenses. We started
reading a Mexican legend and listing the verbs used in the
story on an organizer to help with understanding the uses of
the two types of past tense. We will continue working on the
story in class tomorrow.
December 1, we took a daily quiz over the preterite, the
imperfect, and reflexive verbs. We continued working with
a Mexican legend.
December 2, we took a daily quiz over the same material as
yesterday after discussing errors from yesterday. We then
discussed the answers to the quiz today. We finished reading
the legend and doing the comprehension activities after it.
December 3, we took a daily quiz over the same material as
Tues and Weds. We discussed the answers to that quiz. We
started reading aloud and discussing the legend and the use
of the past tense in the story.
December 4, we finished discussing the Mexican legend we
read in class. We discussed the use of the past tense verbs
throughout the story. We will have a major test next Weds.

Spanish III: November 2, we discussed the answers to the test review sheet
for Chapter 1. Be sure to really study your vocabulary from
this chapter, the regular and irregular preterite and
imperfect verbs, verbs like gustar, verbs ending in cer/cir,
the use of qué and cuál, and review ser/estar. The test will
be like the review sheet though it may use different vocab
from the list.
November 3, we took a major test over chapter 1.
November 4, students were allowed to finish up on their tests
from yesterday for a few minutes. We finished reading aloud
the legend we started before Day of the Dead presentations
and discussed the answers to the questions after the story.
November 5, we reviewed briefly the main action in the legend
and vocabulary from the story. We took a daily quiz over La
mujer guerrera. We did some listening activities on LoMasTv
with some popular Latin music.
November 6, we read pp. 50-55, and did exercises 2, 6, and
7-9 on pp. 51-56 in class. Please have that finished by
Monday if you did not finish in class.
November 9, we wrote, defined, and pronounced Ch 2 LA1 vocab
and began to discuss the classwork from Friday. Quizzes will
be Weds and Fri, half the list each day.
November 10, we discussed pp. 50-55 in the book. Vocab quiz
tomorrow over 1-23 Ch 2 LA1. The rest will be on Friday.
November 11, we took a quiz over 1-23 Ch 2 LA1. We discussed
the answers to the Chapter 1 test. Please come to see me if
you need to discuss your errors one on one to understand them
better.
November 12, we discussed the rest of pp. 50-56. We worked on
pp. 21-25 in the workbook, exercises 1-7. If you did not com-
plete the exercises, do them for homework. We will have a
quiz tomorrow over the rest of Ch 2 Lesson A1 24-end.
November 13, we took a vocab quiz over 24-end of Ch 2 LA1
vocab. We discussed the answers to the workbook pages or did
the exercises in class.
November 16, we took a daily quiz over the use of the
affirmative and negative expressions from Lesson A1 vocab. We
wrote, defined, and pronounced Lesson A2 vocabulary. We will
have a quiz over 1-25 on Wednesday, and the rest on Friday.
For tonight, start studying those new words, and read pp. 58-
61 in the book.
November 17, we finished Lesson A2 vocab. We discussed the
answers to the daily quiz yesterday. We read through and
discussed pp. 58-61 in the book. We took notes on object
pronouns. Tomorrow we will have 1-25 of Lesson A2 on the quiz
and the rest on Friday.
November 18, we took a vocab quiz over 1-25 Ch 2 Lesson A2.
We finished writing notes on the use of pronouns. We did
some practice exercises using pronouns. Homework is workbook
pp. 26-29, ex 8-13. The rest of the vocab will be on a quiz
Friday.
November 19, we discussed the answers to pp. 26-29 in the
workbook. We reviewed the pronoun notes and made a study plan
for organizing the ideas in the notes. We did some practice
exercises with object pronouns from the SmartBoard and then
discussed the answers.
November 20, we took a quiz over 26-end Lesson A2. We took
notes on the incomplete passive voice. We did some practice
with pronouns.
November 30, we reviewed what we have discussed in Ch 2
Lesson A. We discussed the different uses of the pronoun se.
We wrote examples individually for incomplete passive voice
and impersonal statements, then volunteers wrote theirs on
the board for the class to interpret. The notes are uploaded
to this site if you don't have them already from class.
December 1, we started review for the test this week with a
worksheet on pronouns. We took a daily quiz over notes on
pronouns and the new uses of se. Homework is to finish the
worksheet with the 4 sections - the other side is extra
practice for those who need it.
December 2, we took a daily quiz over the concepts in this
chapter. We discussed the answer to the first review sheet
for the test. We have the second review sheet to do for
tonight.
December 3, we discussed the answers to the second page of
test review. Major test tomorrow over Ch 2 Lesson A.
December 4, we took a major test over Ch 2 Lesson A.
Spanish IVAP: November 2, we took quiz 5 of pp. 358-359. Tomorrow we will
start three quizzes on pp. 360-361. We did several listening
exercises from an AP test prep book.
November 3, we took quiz 1 of pp. 360-361 in Gramática. We
finished Una historia de café on LoMásTv and watched some
music videos in Spanish.
November 4, we took quiz 2 of pp. 360-361 in Gramática. We
continued our review of the subjunctive.
November 5, we took quiz 3 of pp. 360-361 in Gramática. We
prepared vocabulary for next week's quizzes. We reviewed the
Spanish object pronouns. Listening Charts and green folders
are due tomorrow. Leave them with the substitute.
November 6, we read pp. 45-54 in Galería and did exercises
1-3 pp. 45-48, 1-2 p.52, and A-B p. 55.
November 9, we took quiz 1 of Viajes. We discussed the rest
of the definitions for this week's quizzes.
November 10, we took quiz 2 of Viajes. We discussed the work
from Friday in Galería.
November 11, we took quiz 3 of Viajes. We finished reading
Una carta a Dios and discussing the comprehension questions.
We also discussed appropriate salutations for letter writing.
November 12, we took quiz 4 of Viajes. We discussed and
defined vocabulary for next week.
November 13, we discussed and defined the rest of the vocab
for next week and the next.
November 16, we took quiz 1 Pasatiempos 1. We did several
listening exercises from Triángulo chapter 4.
November 17, we took quiz 2 Pasatiempos 1. We did several
listening exercises from Triángulo chapter 5.
November 18, we took quiz 3 Pasatiempos 1. We did several
reading comprehension exercises from chs 4 and 5 Triángulo.
November 19, we took quiz 4 Pasatiempos 1. We discussed the
answers to the reading comprehension exercises that we did
yesterday. Blue folders and Listening Charts are due Friday.

December 4 and Blue and Yellow folders will be due Friday,
December 11.

read a Spanish legend.
November 30, we did two interpersonal writing activities from
Triángulo. Read pp. 349-353 Los indios Kunas and complete ex.
A and B after the reading.
December 1, we took quiz 1 of Pasatiempos 2. We discussed the
reading from Lectura on Los Kunas.
December 2, we took quiz 2 of Pasatiempos 2. We read a short
story from Lectura. It will be homework to finish the story
and the exercises after it.
December 3, we took quiz 3 of Pasatiempos 3. We started
reading aloud and discussing the story from Lectura.
December 4, we finished reading and discussing Jacinto
Contreras. We did some listening activities on LoMásTv. Red
and green folders were due and Listening Charts. Don't forget

not be Listening Charts or vocab quizzes next week.
