 Words Their Way: Short a (cvc), Long a (cvce), (cvvc –ai),
                  (open syllable – ay)
Topic Words:

wants – things people would like to have but don’t need to live
needs – are things that people can not live without, such as food, clothing, 
        and shelter
goods – are things that can be bought and sold
services – a job that a person does for you and receives money in return,
           such as a doctor
producers – are people who grow or make things that we buy
consumers – are the people who pay for goods and services

HOMEWORK
Monday:  Spelling in journal – 8 words for each pattern and 2 sentences
         (6 words or more) for each pattern.  Math – PS/RW 62, 100 facts test
         in 7 minutes all week long
Tuesday:  Spelling - R-Controlled vowels sheet (side 57 only), Math – PS/CW 72
Wednesday: Spelling – R-Controlled vowel (side 171), Math sheet
Thursday: Language Arts sheet, Math – PS 73,  Study Topic Words for Quiz

WE ARE STUDYING: Language Arts focus on determining fiction text from 
nonfiction text, or & er controlled vowels, homophones, and practicing 
fluency. Guided Reading of Freckle Juice, The Chalk Box Kid, The One in the 
Middle is a Green Kangaroo, comprehension activities, sequencing of events, 
and response to literature writing. Math focus on making change from $1.00 
up to $10.00. Since finishing the addition facts, we will be having addition 
timed test on 100 facts in (7 mins.) several times this week. Social Studies: 
Goods and Services

Notes: 
  A special “Thank You” to everyone who made our yummy Thanksgiving treats a
  success. It was so nice to see our guess at lunch on Thursday. We hope you 
  enjoyed the Thanksgiving Feast as much as we did!

Media check out after Monday. Please have your books here and ready to go on 
Tuesday. Now is the time to buckle down and read to make your AR goal. If you 
have already done that, challenge yourself to see how many points you can 
make before Winter Vacation.
