plane figure – geometric figures that have no thickness, they lie flat
hexagon – a closed figure plane shape with 6 sides and 6 angles
trapezoid – a 4 sided plane shape with 2 sides parallel and 2 sides not
parallel
pentagon – a 5 sided plane shape
parallelogram – a 4 sided plane shape, with opposite sides being parallel and
equal in length
quadrilateral – plane shape with 4 sides and 4 angles
side – the straight part of a shape
angle – the place where two or more edges meet

WE ARE STUDYING: Language Arts guided reading on the books The One in the
Middle is the Green Kangaroo, The Chalk Box Kid, and Freckle Juice,
comprehension activities, skills, vocabulary, making connections, making
plurals, homophones, and writing a response to literature. Math –
Introduction of Geometry: Plane figures, sides, corners, square corners,
angles, vertex, vertices. Social Studies: Economics – Indentifying how goods
and services are allocated.

Class Christmas party will be held on Friday, Dec. 18th at 10:30 – 11:00.

The Holiday Shoppe will be open the week of December 7th - 11th in room #407
from 7:15a.m. to 7:45a.m. for your child to preview gift selections and
shop. Second Grade shopping day - Tuesday, Dec. 8th
Also, your child can shop during the 2nd Annual Jingle Jamboree on Saturday,
Dec. 12th - 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
