I has been a teacher at Ford Elementary for thirteen years and a resident
of Cobb County for the past eigthteen years. I am a graduate of Georgia
Southern University and obtained my teaching certificate from Brenau
University. During my teaching career I have taught self-contained middle
school special ed., fourth grade, and second grade. I have been at Ford since
the second year it opened and loved every minute of my stay.
My childhood was spent on a dairy farm in South Georgia. I have twins who
who just celebrated their twenty-six birthday. My daughter Meredith is a
nurse and is working in Charleston, South Carolina loving every minute of
living close to the beach. Meredith's twin brother, Dustin lives here in
Marietta and is going to college. I also have two stepsons and one
daughter-in-law. The lights of my life are my grandsons "Joseph Lewis Byrd",
age two and "Jack Carter Byrd", age three months and their granddaddy Hugh.
