Mrs. Jones’ Class
May 19th-23rd
*Language Arts*
Writing:This week in writing, we will also be finishing our memory book and continue
our DOL practice. We will also finish our journals.
Phonics: In phonics, we will be reviewing the entire week. We will continue to work on blends
and our grammar tricks. We will also continue to practice in literacy centers.
Word Wall Words: I, a, see, the, like, is, he, she, me, to, go, play, it, look, funny, up, and,
come, jump, you, at, on, said, can, we, here, are, for, this, not, little, my, make, in, find,
an, where, be, down, big, away, help, run
Math: In math, we will begin working in our problem solving journals. We will be learning
about the steps with story problems. We will also continue our review of measurement. We will
be exploring measurement centers.
Theme: Our theme for this week is the sea. We will be discovering different animals that live
in the sea. We will also be exploring the differences between mammals and fish. Summer safety
will also be a topic for the week.
Reminders*
-I need every student to bring in a self addressed stamped envelope for their report card. It
must be big enough to fit their report card and other papers. If I do not receive one before
the end of the school year, you will have to come and pick your child's report card in the
office the week after school lets out.
-We will be having an end of the year ice cream social on Friday the 23rd. It will be from 9:30-
10:30. All parents are welcome to come.
-Please remember on Friday that students can bring nothing to school. This includes backpacks
and if they bring a lunch, it must be a paper bag.
-We will be signing our memory books on Thursday. If you child would like to bring in their
yearbook to sign, they may do so.
