Announcements

Thank you so much to all of the parents who helped make our 8 book
celebration a success! The pizza, drinks, and candy were a BIG hit. You are
the best!

Just a reminder that the pledges for Boosterthon are due Thursday. We are
trailing Mr. Plunkert's class by $2.00 a lap.

We had an unusually high number of students (11) out on Monday. I went over
the room today with lysol wipes and spray and we will do so again each day
this week. Please remember that students should not come to school until
they have been fever free for at least 24 hours. I hope they are all feeling
better soon. We missed them.

We are currently studying:
Reading - Comprehension Strategies
Language Arts - Narrative Writing and Poetry
Math - Fractions
Social Studies - Immigration and Industry
Science - Matter

AGENDAS
We will be filling out agendas as a class each day. You can be a tremendous
help to your child by going over the assignments in the agenda and making
sure they have completed each one. Please sign your child’s agenda daily,
even on Friday.

FRIDAY FOLDERS
Friday Folders will contain graded and sometimes non-graded assignments as
well as important papers that need to be returned to school. Additionally,
you will find a behavior chart attached in the folder. Please initial on
the appropriate week so that we know you have seen the enclosed work.

NOTES TO SCHOOL
Whenever your child has to miss school please send in a note the following
day. Additionally, Cobb County requires a doctor note for any absence due to
a doctor/dentist/orthodontist appointment.

IMMUNIZATIONS
All fifth grade students need two doses of the chicken pox vaccine and an
updated medical form before going on to 6th grade. As you take your child
for a check up this year please request a form that we can add to their file.
