Homework will be in the form of a weekly packet. It comes home on Fridays
and is due the following Friday. It allows you and your child to work out
your own homework schedule. When your child turns in their completed
homework they have the chance to play HOMEWORKOPOLY. The spelling list for
the week is attached to the homework packet. Spelling tests will be given
each Friday. View the Spelling Choices Link on my website. Your child may
choose to do one or two of these activities. This will also be located in
the back of the P.I.R.A.T.E. BINDER for reference.
In addition to the packet, students will be required to read at home each
week. I encourage students to read or be read to nightly at home. Students
should record those reading minutes on their reading log. The third grade
reading goal is 100 minutes a week, 400 minutes a month. Your child should
record their minutes on their reading log, and return it to school at the
end of each month.
